Brad teaching a workshop at Johns Hopkins - 2015
I teach adults and children--from beginner to experienced players--how to play clawhammer banjo. In addition to teaching the basics and helping you build your repertoire, I can introduce and help you refine advanced techniques. I can show you how to effectively use slides, hammer-ons, triplets, pull-offs, the bum-ditty, double-thumbing, and the drop-thumb. The tools I teach you will encourage creativity and help you develop your own style. I give lessons in the music studio at my house in Baltimore, MD in Hampden. I've taught privately for a number of years and at workshops/music camps in Maryland, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.
Lessons can be weekly, or a flexible schedule can be arranged.
